With each passing year of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, we learn more about the pathogenesis of HIV disease and of treatment-related complications. Some of the most important lessons from this year’s International Workshop on Adverse Drug Reactions and Lipodystrophy in HIV were on the pathogenesis of inflammation, fat loss, and bone metabolism in infected patients.
