Declining renal function continues to be a problem for many HIV-infected patients, even in the era of potent combination antiretroviral therapy. To determine whether specific antiretrovirals might be contributing to this problem, investigators evaluated data from the large, prospective EuroSIDA cohort study.
The analysis involved 6843 HIV-infected patients who had their height, weight, and serum creatinine levels measured at least three times after January 1, 2004.
