The link between cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection and accelerated cardiovascular disease has intrigued researchers for years, although clear proof of a cause-and-effect relationship remains elusive. Researchers have unearthed yet more intriguing but inconclusive data from the ongoing, prospective, multicenter WIHS cohort of HIV-positive and HIV-negative women.
