Sutezolid is a linezolid analogue with good in vitro activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTb). Because it does not interact with cytochrome P450 enzymes, it is not likely to interact with most antiretrovirals and may therefore be a good option for HIV-positive patients with TB. At the 2012 International AIDS Conference, Robert Steven Wallis reported on the safety and efficacy of this drug in a mixed population of 56 HIV-negative patients and 3 HIV-positive patients who had CD4 counts >350 cells/mm3 and were not receiving antiretroviral therapy [Abstract THLBB02].
