The story of the falsified 1998 case series suggesting a link between measles–mumps–rubella (MMR) vaccine and autism is well known. Although multiple observational, population-based studies worldwide have since shown no association between MMR vaccine and autism (like this 2019 study from Denmark), possibilities of bias and confounding limit their strength.
