The prognostic value of ventricular arrhythmias induced by exercise is unclear. To evaluate the potential association of specific morphologic characteristics of exercise-induced ventricular arrhythmias (EIVA) with mortality, investigators examined the records of all patients who underwent exercise stress testing at one academic medical center between January 2001 and March 2006. A total of 585 patients had EIVA; they were matched by age, sex, and risk-factor profile with 2340 patients without EIVA. The ventricular arrhythmias were characterized as right bundle-branch block alone, left bundle-branch block alone, or multiple morphology.
