Early graft failure after coronary artery bypass grafting often results from technical errors. At the Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute, a surgical and angiographic hybrid suite allows completion coronary angiography to be performed routinely after CABG. In this study, investigators report their results in 366 consecutive patients, 112 of whom underwent one-stop concomitant CABG and percutaneous coronary intervention (hybrid procedure).
Completion angiography after surgical revascularization revealed 97 defects in 796 grafts, including conduit defects in 7%, anastomotic defects in 4%, and target vessel errors in 2%.
