The origins and clinical implications of coronary artery aneurysms (CAAs) that infrequently develop after percutaneous coronary intervention are unclear. In a study of 1197 consecutive patients who underwent late angiographic evaluation after drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation, investigators identified and prospectively followed up 15 patients (1.25%) with CAAs (mean time to CAA diagnosis, 313 days). The angiographic definition of CAA was a localized dilation of DES-related vessel lumen >50% larger than the adjacent reference vessel.
