Although the options for treating angina — both pharmacological and mechanical — have evolved considerably, the literature on contemporary patterns of angina prevalence and control in outpatients with coronary artery disease remains remarkably sparse. The Coronary Artery Disease in General Practice (CADENCE) study, conducted collaboratively with the manufacturer of the antianginal drug ivabradine, included 2031 consecutive patients with a diagnosis of stable angina (mean age, 71; men, 63%; history of MI, 47%) cared for by 207 primary care practitioners in Australia.
