On July 7, 2011, a press release announced the early termination of the PALLAS trial of dronedarone in patients with permanent atrial fibrillation. Since then, considerable discussion has taken place in the cardiology community about the implications of the study's halting — and the findings that prompted it — for the practitioners who are currently prescribing the drug and the patients who are taking it. Journal Watch Cardiology's readers are invited to participate in a conversation among experts and members of CardioExchange, an online forum for cardiology news and discussion, and to respond to a poll about your own practices and intentions with regard to dronedarone. Membership in CardioExchange is free for medical professionals.
