To reap the benefits of primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for acute myocardial infarction (MI), patients who present to hospitals without PCI capability should be transferred quickly, preferably with door-in to door-out (DIDO) times of <30 minutes (J Am Coll Cardiol 2008; 52:2046). In this retrospective analysis of data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), investigators examined DIDO times for patients with ST-segment-elevation MI transferred for primary PCI in 2009.
