Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) after myocardial infarction or coronary revascularization is effective but underutilized. In this Canadian analysis, investigators studied outcomes and factors associated with completion of a 12-session course of CR in 5886 patients who had undergone coronary angiography and were referred for CR.
Only 49% of participants completed the program. Compared with noncompleters, CR completers were significantly younger and more likely to be men, and had significantly fewer risk factors.
