Background and Purpose: After a careful review of study results reported since the publication of the “ACC/AHA/HRS 2008 Guidelines for Device-Based Therapy of Cardiac Rhythm Abnormalities” (JW Cardiol Jun 11 2008), the guideline writing group determined that updated recommendations were necessary, especially with regard to cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT).
