Anti-TNF therapies (etanercept, infliximab, and adalimumab) may be associated with increased risks for neoplasia, but the data are controversial, and many previous analyses have been criticized for their methods. The authors of a new study made use of data from the U.S. National Data Bank for Rheumatic Diseases to analyze data on 13,001 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) whose treatment included oral corticosteroids (45.6%), methotrexate (56.9%), etanercept (7.6%), infliximab (19.9%), adalimumab (0.4%), and anakinra (0.3%).
