Cosmetic filler options are proliferating, with hyaluronic acid fillers capturing most of the market. In this multicenter, prospective, randomized, controlled split-face trial from Europe funded by the manufacturer of calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse), one nasolabial fold of 60 patients was randomized to be filled with Radiesse and the other with a nonanimal, stabilized hyaluronic acid (Restylane, a product of the sponsor of the print edition of Journal Watch Dermatology in the U.S.).
