Mycosis fungoides (MF) is the most common cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (annual age-adjusted incidence, 6.4 per million persons). Among the unusual MF variants is folliculotropic MF (FMF). These authors performed a retrospective review to increase our limited knowledge about the clinical presentation of and therapeutic approach to FMF.
The researchers compared medical records and histopathology specimens of 43 patients with FMF (average age, 49; 3:1 M:F ratio). Nearly two thirds of patients (63%) had stage IA or stage IB patches or plaques; 68% had severe pruritus.
