Nodular gastritis (NG), a type of gastric inflammation commonly seen in children, has been associated with Helicobacter pylori infection. The characteristics of NG — such as clinical presentation and response to therapy — are less clear in adults than in children.
To close this knowledge gap, investigators evaluated endoscopic and histologic characteristics of stomach tissue from 32 adult patients with NG and 40 controls without endoscopic abnormalities (matched for age and sex); all study participants were drawn from a group of 7140 patients who underwent endoscopy for a variety of reasons at a single hospital in India.
