Autofluorescence imaging systems are effective at differentiating adenomatous from nonadenomatous polyps, but few studies have examined whether the technology can improve adenoma detection. Now, researchers have conducted a randomized trial in Japan comparing the rate of polyp detection between autofluorescence imaging and conventional white-light colonoscopy.
