Weekend admissions are associated with worse patient outcomes than weekday admissions among patients with conditions such as aortic aneurysms and pulmonary embolisms (N Engl J Med 2001; 345:663). Does day of admission also affect outcomes for patients with acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding (AUGIB)?
