As recognition of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) continues to grow, so does the number of questions about the biology of the disease and treatment for patients. Now, a comprehensive overview addresses these questions by providing an update about the epidemiology, pathogenesis, and genetics of the disease as well as the latest therapies. Epidemiology: The exact incidence of EoE is unknown, but studies from the last decade suggest that a “mini-epidemic” is occurring.
