Helicobacter pylori infection is associated with low-grade, B-cell, mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma (JW Gastroenterol May 9 2006). Eradication of H. pylori is associated with disease regression or remission.

The overall remission rate was 77.5% (95% confidence interval, 75.3–79.7). Patients with stage I lymphoma achieved a higher rate of remission than patients with stage II lymphoma (78.4% vs. 55.6%; P=0.0003).
