An explanation of wording in a summary posted on September 4, 2012
The summary “Zonisamide: A Good Option for Newly Diagnosed Epilepsy?” described the study's patient population as having “only generalized tonic–clonic seizures and no evidence of idiopathic generalized epilepsy. . .” The intent was to emphasize that only patients with idiopathic generalized epilepsy were excluded from the study. However, a minority did not have generalized tonic–clonic seizures. Hence, we should have said the patients had “mostly generalized tonic–clonic seizures. . .” The summary has been corrected to reflect the intended meaning. We apologize for causing confusion regarding this point.
