Psychopathy has been defined as a combination of three traits: callous and unemotional affect, a grandiose and manipulative interpersonal style, and impulsive and irresponsible behavior. In this study of twins, researchers examined the genetic and environmental factors underlying the association between psychopathy and antisocial behavior in 1912 adolescent Swedish twins born in 1985 and 1986, who were participating in a longitudinal study.
Participants self-reported psychopathic personality traits at age 16–17 and antisocial behavior at ages 13–14 and 16–17.
