Once again, I am delighted to introduce the special year-end essays for Journal Watch Psychiatry. The editorial board has selected the topics after carefully reviewing all of the past year's summaries. In making our choices, we have tried to balance relevance to the clinician, recognition of landmark studies, media publicity, and public awareness. Each essay draws on several related summaries, and most enlarge their range to include new citations. The stories are arranged in no particular order, and their sequence is not intended to reflect relative importance. All citations are from 2009, unless otherwise noted.
The year-in-review essays for 2009 are:
What's New in Perinatal Depression?
Treatments for Borderline Personality Disorder
ADHD: Advances in Knowledge in 2009
