Scores of treatment studies have investigated post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) associated with trauma in adulthood. Far fewer have focused on PTSD resulting from childhood abuse, which, some researchers suggest, results in “complex PTSD,” frequently associated with personality disorders and difficult to treat.
