Migraine headaches are associated with excess risk for ischemic stroke and clinically silent brain lesions, both of which have been linked to cognitive decline. Investigators analyzed data from >6300 participants (age, ≥65) in the prospective Women's Health Study to determine whether migraine and cognitive decline are associated. Women provided information about migraine at baseline and underwent periodic cognitive testing during a mean follow-up of 3.4 years.
