Neisseria gonorrhoeae has developed resistance to several antibiotics, including sulfonamides, penicillin, tetracycline, and fluoroquinolones. To determine whether resistant strains are more common among men who have sex with men (MSM) than among men who have sex exclusively with women (MSW), researchers analyzed 6 years of surveillance data from sexually transmitted disease clinics in 30 U.S. cities.
