Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma, a subtype of marginal zone non-Hodgkin lymphoma, involves various extranodal sites and is associated with certain underlying infections and chronic inflammatory conditions. Gastric MALT, the most prevalent subtype, is strongly associated with Helicobacter pylori infection and remits after eradication therapy.
To assess the long-term effects of this therapeutic approach, investigators conducted a retrospective multicenter analysis of 105 patients with biopsy-proven gastric MALT who received only H. pylori eradication as primary therapy.
