Investigators pooled results from the CHRYSTAL and OPUS trials to evaluate the addition of cetuximab to first-line FOLFOX (leucovorin, fluorouracil, and oxaliplatin) or FOLFIRI (leucovorin, fluorouracil, and irinotecan) chemotherapy in metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC). In 845 patients with KRAS–wild-type CRC, the use of cetuximab plus chemotherapy, versus chemotherapy alone, resulted in longer overall survival (OS; 23.5 vs. 19.5 months), longer progression-free survival (PFS; 9.6 vs. 7.6 months), and higher overall response rate (57.3% vs. 38.5%).
