The standard treatment for patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) who experience disease progression after initial therapy is second-line chemotherapy followed by high-dose therapy (HDT) and hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation (SCT).
To compare the efficacy of two such second-line regimens, investigators conducted a multinational, phase III trial involving 396 patients (age range, 18–65) with aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (383 with DLBCL).
