Patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and translocation of the CMYC oncogene — either alone or in combination with translocated BCL2, BCL6, or both (so-called double-hit or triple-hit DLBCL) — have poor prognosis following initial therapy with R-CHOP (rituximab plus cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone; J Clin Oncol 2010; 28:3360 and Blood 2009; 114:3533).
