Internet-based health resources are a major source of information. To analyze the use patterns and effects of a health information website for adolescents, investigators invited 2054 students (grades, 7–12) at four schools in Canada to register for an interactive health magazine developed by a psychologist and a psychiatrist (2 authors of the study) to promote health literacy, early detection of behavioral and educational problems, and health-seeking behavior in middle- and high-school students.
Of the 558 students (27%) who visited the website at least once, 455 (81%) completed a health survey 1 year after entering the study. Overall, students visited the website more than 11,000 times during the year. In regression analysis, being female, …
