About 25% of middle-school and high-school students either do not recall having had a routine preventive care visit during the past 2 years or report having forgone healthcare they believed was necessary. Researchers used data from home interviews conducted as part of the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health (in 1123 boys and 1315 girls) to examine risk characteristics associated with citing confidentiality concerns as a reason for not seeking healthcare.
