With the continued increase in the number of children and adolescents who participate in sports, pediatricians are likely to see more patients with sports-related injuries and to encounter parents who wonder how far they can “push” their children. The AAP’s Council on Sports Medicine and Fitness (CSMF) offers guidance on identifying and counseling children and families at risk for overuse injuries.
