Adherence to effective forms of contraception is not optimal among college students. To address this issue, researchers conducted a manufacturer-funded randomized trial that involved 273 students at two Chicago university sites to determine whether satisfaction with and adherence to a nondaily contraceptive vaginal ring (NuvaRing) would be greater than to a daily oral contraceptive (OC; Ortho TriCyclen Lo). Participants used Internet-based diaries and surveys to record information about adherence and satisfaction.
