Prompt administration of therapy for chlamydial infections prevents involvement of the upper genital tract and diminishes likelihood of further transmission. To investigate whether use of electronic medical records (EMRs) shortens time to treatment, investigators assessed elapsed time between receipt of positive chlamydia test results and provision of therapy at the same London clinic before versus after installation of an EMR system.
