The context that shapes sexual practice has changed since the last comprehensive study of U.S. sexual behavior was conducted in 1992. Availability of drugs for erectile dysfunction, legitimization of same-sex relationships, and acceptability of oral and anal sex have influenced sexual behavior. In three reports based on a nationally representative sample of 2929 women and 2936 men (age range, 14–94) who completed Internet-based surveys, researchers assessed specific sexual practices.
