One of Dr. Paul Sax's colleagues recently asked him about successors to the current generation of HIV providers: What happens when we oldsters decide to do something else? Who's going to take our place? Dr. Sax has heard that in some parts of the country, attracting young clinicians to the field has been difficult. Various reasons have been cited, including not enough revenue, interest only in international work, and lack of good jobs.
