Studies that evaluate sleep patterns and daytime behavior generally assess sleep-onset behaviors, awaking, and sleep duration. Researchers prospectively examined the association between bedtime schedules and behavior in 10,230 children enrolled in the U.K. Millennium Cohort Study (born 2000−2001).Mothers completed structured interviews when children were ages 3, 5, and 7 years. Mothers and teachers completed a validated instrument for identifying behavioral difficulties at age 7 years.
