To evaluate compliance with the 2010 Pediatric Basic Life Support Guidelines for in-hospital cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for children between 1 and 8 years of age, researchers performed a prospective observational study of 8 children undergoing CPR during 30 months at a single academic institution. Several of the researchers had associations with Laerdal, the funders of the study.
Nurses, respiratory therapists, and resident and fellow physicians provided CPR; events included poorly perfusing bradycardia in addition to pulseless arrest.
