AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) eligibility and budgetary supplementation of federal Ryan White funding vary by state, resulting in differential access to ADAP, depending upon a patient's state of residence. Now, in an analysis involving NA-ACCORD participants who were newly eligible for ART between 2001 and 2009, researchers have examined the potential relation between presence of supplemental state funding for ADAP — or of or active ADAP waiting lists — and the timing of antiretroviral therapy (ART) initiation and virologic suppression in HIV-infected patients.
