The Internet and social media are widely used by young women. To determine how Web-based information (Facebook page accessible for 30 minutes) equated with an educational brochure (available for 30 minutes) for augmenting clinic-based contraceptive counseling, industry-funded investigators conducted a randomized trial involving 144 well-educated women (age range, 18–45 years). Participants' contraceptive knowledge was tested before and after exposure to these educational resources.
