Darapladib is an investigational selective oral inhibitor of lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2, an inflammatory-pathway mediator associated with elevated cardiovascular risk. In the STABILITY trial, darapladib failed to improve clinical outcomes in patients with stable coronary artery disease (NEJM JW Cardiol Mar 30 2014). Now, investigators have assessed the efficacy and safety of darapladib in patients with an acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
