Up to 3% of patients taking HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (statins) develop mild liver-enzyme elevations and, although rare, clinically apparent drug-induced liver injury (DILI). To examine the relationship between dose and duration of statin use and risk for DILI as well as long-term outcomes, investigators described 22 patients with DILI attributed to statin use.
