Ebola has gripped the world's attention. To assess the potential for the virus to cross international borders, researchers analyzed data from the International Air Transport Association.
The investigators determined the expected traveler volume from Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone between September and December 2014 and the final destinations for travelers from these countries for the same months in 2013. They then coupled travel volume with Ebola-case data to calculate the expected number of exportations per month per country.
