Several studies of endovascular stroke therapy with novel findings have been published since the last AHA/ASA guidelines on early management of ischemic stroke patients were issued in 2013. This focused update deals solely with endovascular therapies and incorporates the new evidence. Recommendations are new except where noted.
Endovascular therapy is indicated if all the following criteria are met (Class I, Level A):
Adult with prestroke modified Rankin Scale score ≤1,
