Current postinduction monitoring for relapse in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) entails periodic clinical and laboratory evaluations and, in some settings, radiographic imaging. To determine whether clonotypic circulating tumor DNA could be used to predict disease recurrence, investigators conducted an industry-supported, retrospective study involving 126 DLBCL patients who had achieved complete remission, determined by standard imaging, after treatment with first-line EPOCH (etoposide, prednisone, vincristine, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin) with or without rituximab between 1993 and 2013.
