Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is increasingly common in the pediatric population. Monitoring progression and the effectiveness of therapy requires repeated endoscopic biopsies, but the risks, cost, and time commitment associated with standard sedated endoscopy are of concern. Searching for an alternative method, investigators evaluated the performance of unsedated transnasal endoscopy (TNE) in obtaining esophageal mucosal samples in children with EoE.
