Retention in care is a major obstacle to better HIV-care outcomes. Now, researchers have evaluated a reengagement-in-care program conducted by seven Los Angeles County (LAC) HIV clinics together with the LAC Public Health Department. Participants had (1) no HIV-care visits in 6 to 12 months and virologic load >200 copies/mL, (2) no care visits for >12 months, (3) a new HIV diagnosis and no care, or (4) recent release from jail or other institution and no regular HIV-care provider.
