To establish a basis for improving the care of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), a working committee within the American Academy of Neurology proposed 11 measures for inclusion in the AAN 2015 MS Quality Measurement Set. These patient-centered measures include the proportion of a clinician's or practice's patients diagnosed with MS who:
Fulfill international criteria for MS diagnosis;
Receive magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with and without contrast within 24 months after their baseline diagnostic MRI;
Are scored using an MS disability scale;
Are screened for fall risk;
Have bladder infections;
Are counseled on benefits of physical activity;
Have stable or improved results on a fatigue rating instrument;
